A landslide,是一大截的意思，

A隊贏了B隊一大截。　

A nose, 是一點點的意思，

Team A beats team B by a nose.
A隊贏了Ｂ隊一點點。

A long way to go,是指還有很多進步的空間:

你在合格之前還有很多進步的空間。　

Go a long way,是指很有幫助的意思，

A long shot,是成功機率不高的意思。

Dark horse是沒人意料到會有勝算的選擇, Wild card是指讓人預測不到的未知數。

Pull it off, 是完成了或是成功了。

No body thought that he would be re-elected, but he pulled it off.
沒人認為他能連任, 但他成功了。

Pull over,是把車停在路邊:

Police: I need you to pull over and take out your ID.
警察: 我需要你把車停在路邊,把身分證拿出來。

Catch someone off guard,是做了讓一個人出乎意料的事讓他不知如何應對:

You caught me off guard when you asked me to lend you lots of money.
當你向我借很多錢時，真令另我出乎意料, 不知如何回達你。
