Temper,用來形容一個人的脾氣:
My dad always has a good temper.
我爸脾氣總是很好。

Tom has an explosive temper.
Tom有著火爆的脾氣。

Composure,用來形容ㄧ個人的氣度、沉著:

He never loses his composure even in a heated argument.
他即使在激列的爭論中,也不曾失態。

Amiable,用來形容一個人和藹可親:

When I visited Tainan, the locals were amiable.
我去台南玩時, 那裡的當地人很和藹可親。

Amicable跟Amiable是同意字, 但Amicable適用在一個人的行為:
He dealt with his rude behaviors in an amicable way.
他用心平氣和的方式對付他無禮的行為。

Aggressive Vs. Abrasive Vs. Intrusive:

Agressive用在負面字意上時, 是好鬥、挑釁的:
You shouldn't be so aggresive toward these amiable people.
你不該對這些和藹可親的人挑釁。

Abrasive, 是粗魯的:
You need to be less abrasive in treating your employees.
你對待員工不能那麼粗魯。

Intrusive, 是擾人的:
I hope that the questions I asked weren't too intrusive.
我希望我問的問題沒有侵擾到你。

Stubborn, 是固執:

He is too stubborn to ever change his mind.
他因太固執而不曾改變他的想法。

Attentive Vs. Thoughtful:

Attentive, 是認真傾聽、體貼、關心的。
Thoughtful, 是考慮周到、體貼的。
所以如果是體貼一個人, 用Attentive to someone, 如果是說一個人本質是體貼的, 用Thoughtful:
He is very attentive to his girlfriend.
他很體貼他女友。
She is a very thoughtful person.
她很體貼。

Judgmental Vs. Critical:

Judgmental, 是喜愛批評人的。
Critical, 是批評、吹毛求疵的。
Judgmental可以用Of或About當介係詞表達批評他人, 而Critical則只用Of當介係詞表達批評他人或是對他人吹毛求疵:
My colleague is judgmental about other coworkers.
我同事愛批評其他同事。
My boss is highly critical of me.
我老闆對我吹毛求疵。

Sophisticated,高雅、見多識廣、有品味的:

People who read books are usually sophisticated.
時常看書的人一般都見多識廣。

Noble, 是偉大的:

The noble general sacrificed his life for his soldiers.
這偉大的將軍為了他的屬下犧牲他的生命。

DeceitfulVs.Dishonest:

Deceitful,是會欺騙人的。
Dishonest,是不誠實的。
A deceitful person is dishonest.
會欺騙的人是不誠實的。

Patriotic, 愛國的:

He is a patriotic person. He insists on buying domestic products.
他是個愛國的人。他堅持買國產品。

Diligent Vs. Painstaking:

Diligent, 是勤奮的:
She is very diligent in pursuing her dream.
她很勤奮的追逐她得夢想。
Painstaking, 是認真嚴謹的:
He is such a painstaking craftsman that he disassembles and reassembles every piece of his work to minimize manufacture defects.
他真是個認真嚴謹的工匠,為了減少瑕疵品, 他會拆開再重組他的每件作品。

Meticulous Vs. Cautious Vs. Careless:

Meticulous,非常注意細節的, 與Painstaking雷同:
Collectors appreciate the artisan's meticulous hand craftsmanship.
收藏家很欣賞這為手藝人極度注重細節的手工藝。

Cautious, 是謹慎、小心翼翼的, 常接About這個介係詞:
You should be cautious about accepting gifts from your supplier.
你對接受供應商禮物這件事要謹慎。

Careless, 是粗心、馬虎的:
We should all avoid careless mistakes at work.
我們在職場上要避免粗心造成的錯誤。
