From Lin Department Store, go southwest on Zhong-zheng Road toward Fu-qian Road.
從林百貨直走中正路，往西南方向接府前路。

Once you pass Xinnan Bridge over Tainan Canal, head toward Zhong-hua West Road on the right side and then make a left onto Anping Road toward Fort Anping.
經過台南運河上的新南橋，接中華西路右轉，遇到安平路再左轉，前往安平古堡。

As mentioned in our Chinkan Tower article, Fort Anping and Chinkan Tower were the military and commercial centers in Taiwan during the Dutch colonial era.
在赤崁樓文章裡提過，安平古堡和赤崁樓是荷蘭殖民時期，在台灣的軍事和商業中心。

City bus is facilitated for Fort Anping. If you drive, parking spots are easy to find. Head to the Fort Zeelandia Museum inside, and a miniature of the old castle is on display. The castle wall from the past is left intact outside.
安平古堡的公車很方便。如果你開車，找停車位並不難找。前往安平古堡裡面的熱蘭遮城博物館，可以看到當年城堡的模型。當年的城牆仍然屹立在外。

There is an old well beneath the cannon platform. The Dutch relied on the well to replenish water supply during their 9 months of resistance against Zheng Cheng-gong's takeover. The lighthouse during the Japanese colonial era was reconstructed to become a castle lookout.
砲台下方有一口古井。荷蘭人在抵抗鄭成功圍城的九個月中，靠這做水井的補給。燈塔在日治時期後來改建成古堡瞭望台。

Go up to the lookout, and the beautiful seaport and the whole city come to view. It's no wonder Fort Anping was such a vantage point during the Dutch colonial era.
登上瞭望台，可以看到港口美麗海景和全部市區。難怪在荷蘭殖民時期，安平古堡是這麼重要的據點。

Foreign firms and Tree House

洋行和樹屋

Tainan used to be the capital of Taiwan. Many old foreign trading companies in the vicinity of Fort Anping, such as Germany Julius Munich and Company and British Tait and Company, give testament to the 19th century Age of Discovery. Some of these old merchant buildings like the aforementioned two are now historic sites.
台南曾經是台灣的首府。許多舊的外國貿易公司，例如德商東興洋行、英商德記洋行，都在安平古堡週邊,為19世紀的大航海時代做見證。一些商務建築，像是前面說的兩個，都已經是歷史古蹟。

The tree house used to be the warehouse for Tait and Company. After many years of abandonment, the banyan tree overspread the roof, and aerial roots covered the entire brick wall, giving you a taste of Angkor Wat. After some works done to the interior, the place lightens up quite a bit.
樹屋則是原來英商德記洋行的倉庫。荒廢多年後，屋頂被榕樹盤據，氣根則布滿磚牆，好像吳哥窟的感覺。內部經過重新整理，重新發光發亮。

You can take the stairwell to get to the second floor. The upstairs gives you the unique feeling that you are on a tree inside a house, which is quite opposite of a tree house!
你可以從梯子走上二樓。在樓上，你會有很奇特的感覺，感覺就像站在房子裡面的一棵樹上，和樹屋的感覺相反!

From the second floor, the stairwell connects you to the bird-watching lookout. Use the telescope to observe waterfowls on the wetland. There is a Tree House Coffee outside the Tree House.
從二樓樓梯也連接到賞鳥觀景台。可以用望遠鏡觀賞濕地的水鳥。樹屋外面也有一家樹屋咖啡。

Leaving Fort Anping, you can walk around Anping Road or Anbei Road. Fried Shrimp Cake shops are everywhere. We recommend that you check out Zhou Shrimp Roll and Anping Tofu Pudding. There are crispy Shrimp Roll and Milkfish Chowder with clear soup from Zhou Shrimp Roll.

Tainan is renowned for its beef soup. Similar to what we mentioned in our Chinkan Tower article, there is the popular Wenzhang Beef Soup on Anping Road. They have a variety of beef dishes, including the freshly boiled beef soup. You can see chefs slicing the beef and ginger in preparation for the soup.

Eternal Golden Bridge

億載金城

Located in southwest seaport of Fort Anping, Eternal Golden Bridge employed the first western-style cannon in Taiwan. It was developed by a French engineer, who was hired by Imperial Commissioner Shen Bao during Qing dynasty.
位在安平古堡西南邊的海口，億載金城採用台灣的第一個西式砲台。是清代欽差大臣沈葆楨，聘請法國工程師所興建。

Though you can only find replicas of British cannons up there, the remains of the ammunition depot and the moat that surrounds the castle are still here.
雖然你現在在那裡，只能看到英國大砲的仿製品，彈藥庫遺跡以及圍繞在外的護城河仍還在。

Upon exiting the castle and crossing the street, there is a milkfish theme museum. It's a milkfish-sightseeing factory as well. In addition to various types of milkfish products, there is the ecological environment of milkfish inside that you can familiarize yourself with.
走出億載金城，對街是虱目魚主題館府城館。這是一家虱目魚觀光工廠。除了各式各樣虱目魚製品，你在裡面也可以瞭解虱目魚的生態環境。
